● Minimum 2 years teaching experience.
● Experience in a similar role will be beneficial.
● Fluent in spoken and written Afrikaans.
● Computer literate.
● Must have a valid driver’s license.
● Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 13h00 – 17h00.
● Allows for 2 working from home days per month.

Purpose of Position
This position is responsible for assisting with developing and implementing the School Enrichment Programme (SEP) for the Pebbles Project.

This position is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the School Enrichment Programme (SEP) for the Pebbles Project.  
PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT
● To assist with the development and implementation of the Learner and Facilitator On-site support and Monthly Training Initiatives.
● Facilitator onsite support:
To take overall responsibility for the SEP external staff development, guiding them to proficient their skills when possible.
To educate facilitators on multi-grade teaching.
To present model lessons that promote positive discipline (reward system).
To research and develop training material.
To research and develop resources that can be used for multi-grade teaching.
To monitor intervention strategies (SEN Support) and provide feedback to the SEN Coordinator.
To present training on effective classroom management.
To present on-site training to the SEP facilitators on life skills initiatives and activities.
To create, implement and review staff development plans for the SEP facilitators.
● To take overall responsibility in advising the SEP facilitators with the layout of the SEP centre.
● To organise the collection of all SEP registers on a monthly basis and to inform the SEP Programme Manager of any discrepancies in this regard.
● To assist with the development and implementation of the Life Skills and Extra-Curricular services.
● To act as an intermediary and to ensure the effective rollout of all SEP services on the assigned cluster of farms.
● Monthly Training:
To identify and present relevant topics that enhance the personal development of staff.
To train facilitators to understand the developmental stages of learners.
To train facilitators to implement classroom management and discipline strategies effectively.
To provide any additional training as requested by the SEP Programme Manager.
Learner Support:
To assist with homework and tutoring.
To teach and facilitate life skills activities in a multi-grade classroom environment.
To implement curriculum differentiation and conduct assessments.
To design and implement positive discipline strategies.
To identify barriers to learning and gather background information.
To teach study methods and techniques to learners to prepare them for their examinations.
To refer learners who require additional support to the relevant specialists (Social Worker and/or Special Education Needs Manager)
To arrange and facilitate parent meetings.
To conduct SEP inductions.
To conduct inventory counts for all educational resources.
To assist with the identification of learners with learning difficulties and refer individual cases to the SEN Programme Manager.
To act as a Case Manager for referred learners and to facilitate the necessary protocols.
To liaise with the assigned schools on the curriculum matters as well as exam schedules.
To present any other initiatives as requested by the SEP Programme Manager.

SEP Staff Development
● To assist and conduct the necessary HR processes with the SEP facilitators.
● To manage the leave administration of the SEP facilitators.
● To take overall responsibility for the monthly SEP facilitator evaluations.
● To conduct quarterly employee performance development meetings with the SEP facilitators.
● To assist the SEP Programme Manager with arranging the SEP facilitator and learner year-end functions.

Centre Management
● To take overall responsibility for the general upkeep of the building and outdoor areas of all the assigned centres.
● To source and liaise with service providers and supervise building projects in consultation with the area manager.
● To supervise any volunteers who are placed on the designated cluster of farms and maintaining regular contact and ensure that all the necessary arrangements are in place.
● To manage and liaise with any renovation volunteers in consultation with the area manager.
● To take overall responsibility for checking the centre inventories, under the direction of the SEP Programme Manager. All centre inventories need to be checked 6 monthly, unless a centre closes down / a staff member resigns, in which case a complete stocktake must take place.
● To complete monthly farm newsletters for the designated cluster of farms, which needs to be sent to the area manager no later than the 30th of each month.
● To assist the programme manager by putting together the monthly farm schedules and identify if any changes are required.
● To sort and distribute donations fairly between farm clusters.
● To purchase and distribute all the educational resources as required by the individual centres, as directed by the SEP Programme Manager.
● To ensure that a cluster of centres has all the needed resources/equipment to function productively.
● To facilitate quarterly parent meetings and one on one meetings when required.
● To ensure the general upkeep of communication with parents and ensure they are informed about their child’s involvement in any of the Pebbles Project programmes. Facilitate the distribution of all programme documents.
● To plan and execute the annual centre year-end prize-giving with the ECEP support teacher at the relevant centres.
● To organise two open days per year at the centre in partnership with the ECEP support teacher and ensure all stakeholders (parents, schools, farm owners, and staff) are included.
● To assist the Area Manager with the health and safety of a cluster of centres.
● To manage the centre waiting list and procedures for the intake of new beneficiaries.
● To ensure all Department of Social Developments processes and procedures are effectively implemented.
● To support the Pebbles Project social workers if/when relevant, such as home visits with the Social Worker when necessary.
● To conduct quarterly building, landscaping and play area inspections.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION
● To assist with the monitoring, evaluation and effectiveness of the Mobile Resource Centre in a timeously manner.
● To conduct assessment and measurement activities, to collect and document information about the learners’ strengths and needs.
● To develop monitoring and evaluation tools to track the success of the Mobile Resource Centre.

ADMIN
● To provide input for the Pebbles Project newsletters, when required.
● To complete all other reports as requested by the SEP Manager.
● To contribute to monthly farm reports.
● To follow any reasonable instruction as requested by any Manager or member of Senior Management to the contribution of the productivity.
