Requirements• Preferably 2-3 years’ Library experience.
• Preferably a diploma or certificate in Education or Library Management.
• Fluent in spoken and written Afrikaans.
• Computer literate.
• Prepared to obtain a Code 10 License (the organisation will cover the costs).
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 09h00 – 18h00.

Purpose of Position
This position is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the School Enrichment Programme (SEP) for the Pebbles Project.  

• To take overall responsibility of the Mobile Resources.
• To maintain all systems/procedures for managing the Mobile Resources: basic equipment, computer systems, itemising and creating inventories for equipment and relevant paperwork.
• To purchase all computer equipment and software for the programme and to maintain it.
• To update and maintain the tracking system for the Book Library and its resources.
• To purchase all resources needed for the Mobile Resources and to maintain it.
• To visit the SEP centres on a regular basis to provide access to the beneficiaries.
• To allow the parents of the beneficiaries to take out books and games, where possible. To participate in Inductions to inform parents about the programme and issue them with library cards.
• To ensure that all games, books and DVDs are returned in good and complete order, and to contact parents if not returned.
• To facilitate story time in the ECEP centres in the mornings. To facilitate meetings with the ECEP managers to streamline the sessions with the ECEP monthly programmes.
• To manage and track the Mobile Resources budget.
• To liaise with other organisations relating to mobile libraries and to stay abreast of new legislation, guidelines and recommendations.
• To liaise with the Provincial Library Services regarding the books on loan to the Pebbles Project.
• To report back to the SEP Programme Manager and donors with photographs and as when required.
• To assist the Life Skills and Extra-Curricular Manager and SEP Programme Manager by coordinating and integrating the use of the Mobile Resources into SEP initiatives (when required).

• To provide onsite training to the parents, staff and learners that have access to the Mobile Resources. To train them on the importance of the initiative and how to effectively use the resources.

• To manage the maintenance of the Mobile Resources vehicle. To ensure the vehicle is kept in good working order, to arrange services and repairs, ensure maintenance take place, as well as the refuelling of the vehicle.
• To immediately inform the SEP Manager and the Financial Manager of any damage to the vehicle, in order for the Financial Manager to make the necessary arrangements with the insurance.
• To arrange for the repair or maintenance of the vehicle as required.

• To create and maintain a recycling system.
• To collaborate with public libraries, senior citizen homes, community projects and other NGO’s in the provision of unwanted books.
• To coordinate recycling campaigns within the SEP programme.

• To assist with the monitoring and evaluation of the SEP Mobile Resources.
• To assist in reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of the SEP Mobile Resources.
• To carry out assessment activities, to collect and document information about the learners’ strengths and needs.
• To develop monitoring and evaluation tools to track the success of the Mobile Resources
• To do all tasks according to the agreed targets regarding time, quantity and quality.

• To provide input for the Pebbles Project newsletters, when required.
• To complete all other reports as requested by the SEP Manager.
• To contribute to monthly farm reports.
