The Pebbles Project seeks to employ a Clinical Nursing Practitioner based in Stellenbosch.

RequirementsDiploma in General Nursing
Post basic qualification in PHC accredited with SANC (post basic qualification in Occupational Health Care accredited with SANC will be advantageous)
Dispensing license
Current SANC receipt
Driving license and own vehicle (a Code 10 drivers’ license will be advantageous)
Good Communication Skills
Fluent written and spoken Afrikaans and English
Computer Literacy
Experience in child health (pediatric and adult PHC, IMCI, immunization, growth monitoring)
Experience in maternal health (family planning, infectious diseases, TB/HIV/Aids/STI and antenatal care)
Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 08h00 – 14h00.

1. Implement Health Care Services
Primary Health Care Initiative
Conduct Primary Health Care consultation to children/learners/adults
Prescribe and dispense medication when required
Follow-up children and learners referred
Assist with the health training for facilitators
Capture consultations on Moniqube
• Wellness Initiative
Schedule health screenings at centres
Conduct annual and baseline screenings
Follow-up on children and learners referred
Capture consultations on Mobiqube  

2. Nutritional Support
Follow up on children and learners identified as underweight or stunted
Communicate with the caregivers to schedule an appointment
Refer children externally to the Department of Health
Liaise with the Kitchen Manager on additional nutritional support to the children and learners   3.

3. Maternal Health
Provide two awareness sessions to farming communities
Schedule antenatal workshops and postnatal follow-up sessions
Provide antenatal workshops and one postnatal follow-up session
Complete maternal psycho-social questionnaire
Refer mothers with mental health difficulties to the social workers
Register participants on the Attachment and Bonding Caregiver Training Initiative
Provide breathalyzer testing if needed and give feedback to the social workers
Provided Postnatal infant health screenings
Refer maternal and/or infant medical problems to Primary Health Care Initiative for follow up
Annual recruitment of two individuals per community who recruit and monitor pregnant mothers in communities
Submit an Annual summative health report of babies and mothers (end of Feb)

4. Employee Wellness and/ or Occupational Health
Conduct pre-employment medical examinations
Provide a baseline health status and determining fitness for duty.
Conduct periodic health screening to detect early signs of target organ damage related to specific health hazard exposure.
Identify and ensure early and prompt intervention measures to affected employees and referrals to appropriate functionaries.
Report and assist on all injuries on duty and occupational diseases
Assist in concluding multi-disciplinary health risk and occupational injury assessments.
Assist in monitoring work processes and identifying new health risks.
Assist with identifying and providing recommendations regarding the control of health and safety exposures

5. Assist and maintain donors, funders, and stakeholder relationship  
Report monthly to Pebbles and relevant donors, funders, and stakeholders
Assist with hosting donors, funders, and stakeholders

6. Team support
Do all tasks according to the agreed targets regarding time, quantity, and quality.
Ensure that all responsibilities and instructions are understood and clear up any misunderstandings before the task commences.
Co-operate and help colleagues in their duties where necessary and possible.
Always be willing to follow any instruction as a contribution to the productivity of the Pebbles Project.
