A visit from the South African Police Service 🚓

A visit from the South African Police Service 🚓🚨

Louise Strydom from Kraaifontein Police Station visited all the ECD centres in Stellenbosch to conduct informative and engaging awareness sessions with the children. This forms part of '16 days of Activism' which runs from the 25th of November-10th of December. The Global campaign runs annually to challenge violence against women and girls.

Louise covered the following essential topics:

• Stranger danger
• Gun safety
• Body safety
• The SAPS emergency number (10111)

To make it memorable for the children, she demonstrated all this information using a simple hand-based approach to help them recall what to do in times of need.

As part of the session, Louise also took the children's fingerprints and compiled a SAPS booklet for each child, which remains at the centre for emergencies.

The session concluded with the children visiting the police van, where Louise turned on the siren, creating an unforgettable experience for them 🚨

After winning the ‘Best Documentary’ award at the Kleinkaap Short Film Festival (KSFF), ‘Kindness’ has now been nominated as a finalist at the @bigsyn_film_festival London (BSIFF)—the world’s largest sustainability film festival that promotes awareness through meaningful cinema.

Join us in celebrating kindness and positive change, and stay tuned for updates on the awards gala on 8 November which Liesl will be attending in person 🇬🇧 🎉

The festival runs until 26 October, with free global screenings available at bigsyn.org

Proper nutrition is essential for ensuring that children thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The Pebbles Project Nutrition Programme began with humble roots, providing nutritious meals and snacks to a few Pebbles centers in 2014. Fast forward ten years, and it now benefits thousands of children across the Western Cape—both Pebbles beneficiaries and others—through meals prepared and distributed directly from the Pebbles Kitchen.

We take pride in knowing that our beneficiaries receive nutritious meals and healthy snacks from an early age, ensuring that they "eat right for a better life" 💚🥕🍅🌽🍏
